VoxFrame Simple manual

1. Open and choose

Open a local video or a permitted video link. Choose the source language or automatic detection, then choose the subtitle language.

2. Find suitable subtitles

For a local video, Simple first checks embedded text subtitles and matching local sidecar subtitles. Next it asks OpenSubtitles through VoxFrame Simple Cloud for the chosen language. If none exists, it may fetch a suitable English human subtitle and translate it. Only when no usable text subtitle exists does it transcribe the audio and translate when required.

3. Translate an existing subtitle

Choose an embedded text track or local SRT and use Translate existing. The source timing is preserved and the translated track appears in CC.

4. Readability

Choose Normal or Large subtitles and move the subtitle position up or down. Speech-recognition model and GPU selection are automatic.

5. Live subtitles and music

Live Subs uses speech detection for local live transcription and cleans up recognised subtitle cues. Explicit music cues become ♪; hearing-impaired descriptions and speaker labels are hidden. Automatic recognition and translation can contain errors or miss speech, especially with music, noise or overlapping speakers.

6. Connect IPTV and refresh

Use only sources you are entitled to access. Choose Open IPTV. Select M3U to open an M3U/M3U8 file or enter its URL. For Xtream, enter the server URL, username and password supplied by the source you have chosen, then choose Load Xtream.

The connection and catalogue are remembered on this PC. Online lists refresh when opened after 48 hours; use Refresh now to update sooner. If refreshing fails, a usable previously saved list remains available.

7. Groups and filters

Choose a group, then a channel or film. The next time you choose Open IPTV, the last selected group returns, including after restarting the player.

Leave Which groups? blank to browse your imported list first. Under Connection and filters, enter alternatives such as NL, DE, UK; NL bios requires both words to match. Xtream also offers live channels, films or both. Xtream requests matching groups; M3U is filtered after reading.

Right-click a group and choose Add group to filter. Multiple groups can be saved for the next load or Refresh now.

8. Save favourites

Right-click a channel or film and choose Add to favorites. ★ Favorites opens your list, including after a restart. Your favourites remain available outside the group filter, while the original groups stay intact.

To remove an item from your list, right-click it and choose Remove from favorites.

9. Seek and download videos from your playlist

Download only if you have permission or another legal basis to make that copy. Open a film and use the timeline or ten-second controls when supported by the source. Download video appears for supported direct video links. Choose a new filename and folder.

The original video format and existing embedded subtitles are preserved; downloading does not add VoxFrame Live Subs. Use Cancel download to stop or Open saved video after completion.

10. Record with Live Subs

Record only if you have permission or another legal basis to make that copy. Open a live channel, start Live Subs, and wait for buffered playback. Choose Record with Live Subs and a new MP4 filename. Visible VoxFrame captions are permanently included in the picture, with size and position fixed at the start.

Keep playback running, choose Stop recording, and wait for Saved before using Open saved video. Stopping Live Subs, changing channel or closing the player also finishes the recording first. A long pause can exhaust the required live buffer.

Recording adds no translation request; normal Live Subs usage still counts towards your plan. If recording fails, the player shows where useful recovery files are kept.

11. Files, folders and cleanup

Windows file dialogs handle opening and saving; double-click a video to open it. Video opening, downloaded-file opening and recording each remember their own folder, including after restarting. Recordings initially use Windows Videos and remember another confirmed folder.

At startup and shutdown, Simple attempts to remove its abandoned download remnants and completed recording work files. Useful settings, IPTV lists, favourites, subtitles, downloaded or recorded media, and recoverable recording files are retained.

12. Purchase, activation and allowance

Simple processes no payment inside the player. Choose and buy a one-month pass, monthly subscription or annual subscription on the secure VoxFrame website in your normal browser. The website shows the current price, VAT and terms before Stripe. Return to Simple after purchase to activate or refresh the licence. Every option includes 150 complete subtitle-file translations per usage month. The standard allowance includes 500 minutes of Cloud live-subtitle translation per usage month for sources you add yourself; it includes no channels or IPTV subscription. The current bundle shown at purchase and in the account applies; monthly and annual allowances renew each usage month.

13. Online account and payments

Open the shared VoxFrame account page, choose Simple and sign in with the Simple licence key and purchase e-mail address. The dashboard shows the plan and end date, remaining subtitle-file translations, remaining Cloud live-subtitle translation minutes, active devices, subscription and recent usage without using another device slot. The signed-in key stays only in the current page memory; after reloading, sign in again. If a new purchase supplies a replacement key, use the newest confirmation e-mail because the dashboard never changes it silently. Manage payments opens the secure short-lived Stripe customer portal for this Simple account.

14. Faster subtitle preparation and loading errors

After OpenSubtitles has been checked, the local fallback exports one suitable source track first, preferably in the target language or English. Only if that track is empty or unusable does it try another. This avoids exporting every embedded track before translation can begin.

If an online video does not load in time, Simple shows an error. This makes a source failure visible; it cannot make an unavailable provider or stream work.

15. Choose a transcription model

Open Settings → Transcription. Choose Cloud model, Local – Accurate (large-v3-turbo), Local – Medium (small) or Local – Light (base). The player recommends a local model for the PC. Selecting a local model does not download it; choose Download model to start the one-time download. A completed model is kept and reused.

Cloud model needs an active Simple account, internet access and available Cloud model minutes. Its audio is processed by the Cloud service. Local models keep transcription on this PC. Simple does not silently switch between local and Cloud processing.
